Significant new chapter for Jewish alumni of Columbia University
The Columbia Jewish Alumni Association (CJAA) marks a significant new chapter for Jewish alumni of Columbia University. Our association was founded after the events of October 7th with a clear and determined goal: to build a community that enables us to work together to support students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Columbia University. Since early October, we have been working diligently in a number of strategic efforts with a goal to make a more meaningful impact to the greater Columbia community. Join us here.
At the heart of CJAA is our commitment to serving as both a resource and a unifying force. We understand the importance of a cohesive and strong community, especially in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities facing Jewish alumni and students today. Our work encompasses a variety of initiatives, including dedicated alumni engagement, student mentorship programs, media and public relations outreach, and strategic liaising with on-campus groups to extend our support.
Our vision at the CJAA is to create a robust and supportive foundation for the Jewish community at Columbia. We aim to not only assist current students, faculty, staff, and alumni—but also to set a strong precedent for future generations.
Over the past few months, a number of Jewish individuals and Allies, deeply impacted by the incidents around the world and on campus, have come together, contributing their time and energy towards many of these shared goals. These efforts blossomed in a true grassroots manner, driven entirely by the dedication and voluntary commitment of our community members. This burgeoning movement is a testament to the power that each and every one of us plays in shaping the future of the community at Columbia. As we embark on this journey with the official formation of the Columbia Jewish Alumni Association, we intend to continue and amplify so much of the work that has already been set in motion.
We know every alum of Columbia brings something unique to the table, and there are plenty of ways to get involved with the CJAA.
